MAKE UP
Already Have/Purchasing Again:
- Green Clean: I tried this on a recommendation from my girlfriend and I couldn’t be more pleased. I was a little skeptical, because at first touch it does feel a little bit greasy but once it is applied to your face and washed off it feels so fresh and clean. It seems a little bit pricey, but I only use about a dime sized amount each time!
- Buxom “Dolly”: I used to use Buxom Lip Plumping Gloss religiously – however, they had a color called “Bianca” and they discontinued it a couple years back and I hadn’t bought since. So, when I was seeing these on every bloggers’ feed I took the plunge. I ordered “Dolly” and “Julep” – I am obsessed with “Dolly”, but “Julep” is a little too berry/purplish. I do love how it applies and the generous amount of “tint” it gives your lips. I am going to order the “Hot Toddy” shade this go around!
- All Nighter Setting Spray: I don’t have much to say about Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray. I have used this since High School and it is still just as good.
- The POREfessional Face Primer: This is another one of those products that I have sworn by for many years. I love the “matte” look, always have and always will. This lets you start with a matte fresh face and the consistency is incredible.
- Nars Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil “Cruella”: If you didn’t know this about my – I am a lipstick queen. I wear BIG BOLD BRIGHT colors and feel naked without lipstick. This is my GO TO red. I tend to lean more towards the blue toned reds – and this is exactly that. It’s crisp, matte, and the perfect red.
- Naked3 Palette: This palette is a little bit more “pricey” but completely worth it. I have had a total of 3 of these palettes and I have used this palette since college. The colors are the perfect neutrals.
- Tarte “In Bloom Clay” Palette: This is a newer palette that I have tried out. I absolutely love it. I love the consistency of the eye shadow and how it lays on the eyelid. However, I don’t think its necessary to have both of these palettes because they do have similar colors!
Trying Out:
- Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder: I am looking for the a setting powder and just haven’t come across one I love – I am trying this one out after researching the best options. I am intrigued by the “Amazonian Clay” in this one. I will report back!
- The POREfessional: Matte Rescue Invisible Finish Mattifying Gel: I had previously mentioned that I loved the “matte” look. This is new from Benefit Cosmetics and in the same line as my beloved POREfessional that I have used forever. I am a little concerned that the consistency is gel, but I am going to order the “mini” to try it out!
- Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner: This is another recommendation – I am horrible at regularly cleaning my brushes so, I am hoping if I find a good cleanser I will do it more often!
HaIR
Already Have/Purchasing Again:
- Living Proof Dry Shampoo: I defintiely get the “hype” behind this product. Its fantastic – it doesn’t leave residue or make your hair feel heavy. Definitely one of my favorite dry shampoos – however, my one complaint would be that I feel as though I go though their bottles very quickly. I am happy to say they have finally starting offering a bigger bottle so, I’m going to try it out!
- Moroccainoil Dry Shampoo: I have used this one for a while – I always use the lighter tones even though I feel like I could get away with the darker toned one. This is another GREAT option for dry shampoo!
- Amika Soulfood Nourishing Hair Mask: So, in High School I used to dye my hair PITCH BLACK out of a box – cringe worthy, I know. However, I started using this mask after my dark days and it helped my hair tremendously. Now, I obviously don’t do that but it still makes my hair feel incredibly healthy. This is by far one of my favorite hair products.
- Bumble+Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer: While I haven’t been putting my heat on my hair these days, this protective primer is key. When things go back to normal I will be using this on a daily basis.
- Bumble+Bumble Prêt-à-Powder: So, this powder can be used as dry shampoo but, I don’t really love dry shampoo in powder form. However, this does WONDERS for volume. I tend to find that my hair gets “heavy” and ways down. I use this to amp up my roots and its magical.
- Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer: I HEART DRYBAR FOREVER. I bought this hair dryer when I lived in NYC and then proceeded to make my mom and sister do the same thing. My mom now owns the blow dryer and straightener. Its a little pricey but their products LAST forever and make my hair feel freshly blown out every single time!
Trying Out:
- Bumble+Bumble Post Workout Dry Shampoo Mist: Clearly, I am a big fan of Bumble+Bumble so I am very intrigued with this “Post Workout” mist. I have been looking for something to use on my hair after I get sweaty and gross. The “normal” dry shampoo just doesn’t do it for me – I will be reporting back with this!
- Amika Un.Done Volume and Matte Texture Spray: Amika is another brand and I absolutely love. I am eager to try this volume and “matte” texture spray. Sometimes, I feel as though these sprays just make my hair feel “full” of product but I am always up for trying something new!
- Hold It Together: Makeup Hair Clip: I am excited about these – they are only $8 and I am always trying to hold my hair back from my face while doing my makeup. This was a no brainer for me!
- Ouai Wave Spray Mini: When I lived in NYC, Lilliana swore by Ouai products. I only tried and few and was very indifferent but I love the idea of “Wave Spray” especially for the upcoming summer months! I am just going to get a mini to try it out!
SKINCARE
Already Have/Purchasing Again:
- Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser: I LURVE THIS CLEANSER. It makes me face feel so fresh and it isn’t horribly expensive. I am trying to get better about taking care of my skin and this was the perfect place to start!
- Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: I have been using this for about a year now. As prevouisly mentioned, I am a big “matte” lipstick fan – the only problem is that “matte” lipsticks dry out my lips ridicously and my lips get incredibly chapped. I am weird about chapsticks, I feel like they always leave a gross taste in my mouth or they aren’t actually helpful. Until this, this lip mask has worked wonders. I did have to scale back on the amount I used, I used to lather this stuff on thick and I think it was causing my chin to break out. However, a little goes a long way. I am still on my first bottle – getting ready to order a new one!
- Shane’s FAV – Jack Black Beard Oil: Shane has extremely sensitive skin and is a FREAK about taking care of it. He has one of the softest “scruffs” ever. I didn’t even know that was possible. I randomly bought this beard oil for him when I used to work at Nordstrom and he has used it every since!
- Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum: Alright, so I know this is pricey but this is my GO TO fall/winter perfume. Yes, I have perfumes for different seasons – go ahead and judge me. So, although this is expensive it lasts me a while and smells AMAZING!
- Mount Lai De-Puffing Jade Facial Roller: It took me a while to get on board with these “face rollers” but now that I have – I am never looking back. Sleep is hard so, dark circles come easy. I put this in the freezer and do it in the mornings while I drink my coffee – its called multitasking.
- Shane’s FAV – Sephora Collection Nourishing Moisturizer – Hydrate & Repair: Again, Shane’s skin is ridiculously sensitive but extremely dry. I searched high and low for a moisturizer that would help him. We tried extremely expensive products that did nothing for him and ended up finding this “Sephora Collection” moisturizer and it has worked wonders!
- Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Eye Masks: This was another product that I was introduced to in NYC. Again, sleep is hard and circles come easy. There are a million different eye masks out there but these were the first I tried and loved them!
Trying Out:
- Peace Out Acne Healing Dots: Alright, so I have been fortunate when it comes to acne. I get it in one spot – my chin. Always have, ever since I can remember. It tends to be hormonal or brought on by stress (so, it does happen frequently). I have used “spot” treatments forever, so, I am wanting to try something new. We’ll see!
- Innisfree Super Volcanic Clusters Pore Clearing Clay Mask: I love masks. Especially in the times of quarantine. I feel like this is the perfect time to try some new ones, and I am a sucker for Clay Masks. I have never used this brand, so I will keep you posted.
- Sephora Collection Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum: My mother swears by this stuff. She basically is their own personally spokeswomen and tries to sell it to me every time I talk to her about skincare. So, I am finally caving in and trying it this round!
